Spring opens like a long-lost jewellery box.
From its musty, darkened depths, spill
gems of every hue: sunshine topaz; dewy pearls;
sapphires, sunrise pink or celestial blue; amethyst
of heartsease.
In the lingering light, my smile returns,
my soul stretches from the shadows, warm
again.
I choose pearl strands.
Gentle blossoms to bejewel old bark.

I know it is silly to be envious of your spring… as you have just come through winter yourself. But dreading the winter, as I do living here, I long for blossoms! 🙂 ❤
Here’s hoping the winter will be kind to you. I always say I will go away for the winter but saying is as far as I get!
I always feel like going away for the winter, but the practicalities are so hard (work, kids, the financial aspect). This year there is “no escape”. I will be so heavily pregnant that even if I wanted to flee, there wouldn’t be an airline in the world that would allow me onboard a flight to Australia 😀 x
Indeed, and some airlines are incredibly strict these days, to the point of crew asking directly if a female passenger is pregnant.
Wow. I haven’t heard of anyone being asked directly, but can imagine you would want to tread rather carefully if your employer is encouraging you to ask a passenger that question!
It has caused some rather unfortunate situations for a certain airline here, and, of course, for the passengers concerned.
Beautiful!
