Thank You! and Go Me!

Go Me! says I. Go where? says Me. Who knows, we smile, because who does? I may not know where I am taking myself, but I do know where I am (most of the time), and where I’ve been.

Where I am, is here, writing my 243rd post. This is where I was one year and one day ago, publishing my very first post about Gallivanting and Roses.

What lies ahead?

What lies ahead? Beverley Park 2012

I have been on a grand journey, and still am on it. Yesterday, 28 October, was my first blog birthday.  Will there be many more? Again, who knows?

But, again, what I do know is that  I am here, on the unbirthday of my blog birthday,  inviting you to share my enjoyment in this day, in this moment.

Draw near and enjoy my  easy-care flowers, for all seasons, in a copper vase which has great sentimental value for me. It is one of two that belonged to my paternal grandmother and dates, I think, from the 1920s.

Silk and Copper

Silk and Copper

If you look very closely, you may find that I have cared so easily for my flowers that spiders have settled in and spun their way through the arrangement  🙂

You may also see little ribbons and little pictures like this…….

They are not new-fangled floral ornaments but bookmarks that I make using photos from some   of my favourite   posts.

As most of you, my blog readers, are also avid readers of ‘real’ books, I would love to thank you for being  with me today by offering you the gift of one of my bookmarks. They are very simple and ordinary bookmarks, but if you would like to have this tangible memento of our journey together, you are welcome to email me, with your details, at kaahend@gmail.com. Tell me which bookmark you would like and I will do my best to send it your way as soon as I can.

Go Me and THANK YOU ALL for helping me to get to my first blog birthday.

I’m finally trying to catch up with all the reading – and find that I have missed your anniversary! Congratulations indeed! Of course you will go on blogging, you do it with love and thoughtfulness. The calm and serene language and the thoughts I love to read from you. I so much enjoy your thoughts and painting in words. please go on!

About your lovely bookmarks…I would happily use a monarch and remember you every time – if you would like to send one of them my way!

I am so glad you have been blogging this last year. Every post it is a treasure, and each time something different. I have learnt from you about paying attention to the little things that bring joy, and I love your photos, beautiful in their own right and chosen with care to fit your posts so well. And the memories – always a lovely reminder of the past. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, photos and memories. They mean a lot to me, and I hope your blog will continue through many more birthdays. xx

Thank you Travelling Kiwi for your kind words. It means a lot to me that, after all these years, we are still in touch and travelling along life’s pathways, more or less, together. And don’t forget it was your blog that gave me the courage to get started. 🙂

Nice going….and happy first birthday with many happy returns. Blogging requires real discipline I found as I very tentatively began a while back. But it is a pleasant habit and I’ve “met” so many interesting and friendly people from all over the world through it. You included:-)))
I am totally impressed with your swags of comments and how well you know your “public”!
    Blog on please!

Thank you for the happy returns! I, too, am thrilled to have met so many people, you included! It has been very good for my brain, attempting to keep track of people’s stories and my own. It’s just a pity that the blogging workout for my brain doesn’t seem to help me locate my handbag or the carkeys etc.

Yes, an entire year! It does seem longer doesn’t it? I think that’s because we are in contact almost daily, which is probably more contact than we have with our extended family and close- by friends 😀

Go YOU indeed!! I can tell it has been a grand journey. I can tell it has been a labour of love. Most of all, I can tell it has drawn hearts and minds together into this little wonderful space you have created. And that is indeed worth celebrating. The coming together of lives. Thank you for drawing us closer to kindness, joy and beauty. My warmest congratulations! And here’s to all that awaits. Much love, Sharon

Happy Blogiversary! I’ve enjoyed getting to know you over the past year. I’ve learned so much about New Zealand–and have been surprised how similar some of our interests are. I don’t know where you’re headed with this blog, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there will be another 243 posts. 🙂

I have two huuuuge boxes where I store my “scrapbooking and crafting” belongings, basically I’m prepared for any paper DIY and crafting idea out there. the boxes originally contained one huge fancy fake fur blanket each, to give you the size idea…

    Happy Blogbirthday!
I really have to commend you for being so consistent in your blogging. I never knew there was so much about another person’s home and surroundings that could be so interesting! And, as for my Martha Stewart comment…today is a perfect example of this.

Your arrangements are gorgeous! Probably nothing to you, but I just don’t imagine in that way and to be honest, I’m happy if mine at least look like they belong together. I have always considered flower arranging an art…one that I would like to be more skilled at…one of these days.

And, what a wonderful and thoughtful way to acknowledge your readership…bookmarks from your posts…of course, I want one! I’m off to work but will contemplate which one…so many great posts, it’s hard to choose…maybe the header which drew me to you in the first place…I’ll think on it and let you know.

    Have an awesome day!

Thank you, thank you for your generous comments 🙂 Sadly, I am not the one who arranged these flowers, not all by myself anyway. This one required a florist’s input! We were working on maximum effect for minimum cost and to the colour scheme I wanted. I am happy you would like a bookmark. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will be able to do the Header photo. I had a play with it some weeks ago because I thought it would be ideal for a bookmark; but the photo quality is too poor it seems. I can have another go at it if you would really like that one. Just let me know.

    Happy blog birthday!

Your easy-care flower is so nice and well kept. With that I am not sure it is that easy care by the way 🙂 It is also funny that you mentioned about real books. I am wonder people will make eBookMark for eBooks one day. Please have a very happy unbirthday too!

Thanks for your good wishes. Actually, you are right; those flowers are quite hard to dust, so they are not easy, easy care 😀 And I bet someone already markets eBookMarks. I am going to check on Google just for fun.

Congratulations on your blog birthday!! Your writing is such a gift and I have enjoyed having a new friend from around the world!
I’d love a bookmark but don’t want to break the bank by having you mail one to the USA. Let me know if it’s in your budget. (honestly!)

I am enjoying your friendship too 🙂 You are kind to consider postage but it won’t be too much at all, and I would love to think of my bookmark put to good use in one of your books ( or eventually lost in that mysterious land where bookmarks always lose themselves 😉 )

The number quite disturbs me! There are a few unpublished ones in the blog too. But what makes me really happy is that blogging has helped me to be a bit more organised with my photos; and I treasure them, both the good and not so good 🙂 Thank you for being part of the journey.

I am so glad that we are on this journey together! We honour our existence by giving our voice a moment to resonate with every post and comment we make. I am celebrating and looking forward to another year of gallivanting.

I am glad to have you alongside on the journey. I thought your Georgia O’Keefe quote was apt for my day, too.“Where I was born and where and how I have lived is unimportant. It is what I have done with where I have been that should be of interest.”
